Check out our events from spring 2024 that have supported charitable organizations across the nation below!

Earth Day Beach Cleanup: Oakland, California Office

Roux’s Oakland office joined the Pacific Beach Coalition to do an Earth Day beach cleanup at Mussel Rock Beach in San Francisco on Saturday, April 20. Pacific Beach Coalition is a growing community of “Earth Heroes,” teeming with passion for protecting and preserving the health of our ocean, beaches, wildlife, and coastal environment.

Mussel Rock Park is made up of interconnected trails with paragliding launch points on the hillside of Daly City, and Mussel Rock carpark sits upon a large landfill site from the 1960. The Roux team removed lots of trash and cigarette butts from the walking paths along the beach. After the beach cleanup, the team enjoyed lunch and some games at Dave & Buster’s.

Ronald McDonald House Family Room Donation Collection: Islandia, New York Office

The New York CSR team organized a donation collection for the Ronald McDonald Family Room at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital. To provide extra support to families of hospitalized children, Stony Brook Children’s partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro to serve the needs of families who have a hospitalized child. Ronald McDonald House created family rooms in the hospital to give families a calm space to unwind while still remaining close to their child.

A donation box was set up for about one month and quickly filled to the brim with donations for the family room, including snacks; cleaning, kitchen, and bathroom supplies; and gift cards. Members of the Roux team packed up the supplies and personally delivered them Stony Brook to benefit families in need.

TD Five Boro Bike Tour: Islandia, New York Office

An annual tradition for the New York office, the TD Five Boro Bike Tour takes place on the first Sunday in May. The group enjoyed a great ride “despite being a little cold and a little wet,” riding 40 miles for a valuable cause though all five boroughs in New York City.

This year, the team donned fresh jerseys and rode alongside our non-profit partner Christodora: Nature, Learning, Leadership. Christodora has served under-resourced communities across New York City for over 125 years. They provide opportunities for young people to learn about the environment and experience the natural world first-hand. The team was led by Roux’s President and CEO Sin Senh, who is also Christodora board member.

A record year for Roux’s Bike Tour fundraising, Christodora and Roux raised an incredible $46,000! The funds from this tour will help more New York City kids discover nature through Christodora’s programs. If you’d like to ride along with us, sign up for next year’s bike ride here.
