Saltwater Disposal Facility Remediation Impacted with NORM
Upstream Waste Recycling Company; Texas
Roux performed investigation and remediation at a saltwater disposal facility serving the Barnett Shale oil and gas operations in Texas. The facility was struck by lightning in mid-2020, sparking a fire that destroyed an entire tank battery, spilling oil and produced water that breached a secondary containment infiltrating the surrounding soil. Roux characterized the extent of contamination and removed all burned debris, sludge, and contaminated media.
Roux provided environmental services for a 17-acre high school campus in Chicago's Roscoe Village neighborhood. Over 200 soil samples were collected across the Site to fully characterize and complete a Tier 2/Upper Confident Limit evaluation, which resulted in significantly reduced remediation time and costs.
"Roux continues to provide excellent design, technical support, and guidance on various remediation projects for our company. We are continually impressed with their innovative approach to problem solving and vast knowledge of regulatory issues."
