Roux Service Spotlight: Human Health Risk Assessment

Roux’s team of toxicologists, industrial hygienists, epidemiologists, and human health risk assessors has evaluated complex issues in the context of product safety, environmental and occupational exposures, epidemiology, general causation, air toxics, and public health.

Derek Drechsel, PhD, DABT, CIH – Principal Scientist

Dr. Derek Drechsel is a board-certified toxicologist (DABT) and certified industrial hygienist (CIH) with more than fifteen years of experience in applied toxicology, industrial hygiene, product safety, and human health risk assessment. Dr. Drechsel’s areas of expertise include evaluating chemical exposures in occupational, environmental, and consumer products settings to address issues of general and specific causation as an expert in a variety of toxic tort matters. He is involved in food and consumer product safety evaluations through proactive scientific support to assess potential health risks and regulatory compliance, as well as assisting in crisis management and product recall decisions.

Tami McMullin, PhD – Principal Scientist

Dr. Tami McMullin is a toxicologist and risk assessor with over twenty years of multidisciplinary experience applying risk-based frameworks to support regulatory and legislative policies involving chemical risk management, product stewardship, and public health protection. Her career spans state government, the chemical industry, academia, and consulting, providing her with a unique breadth of expertise to deliver technical guidance on public health issues. She formerly served as the State Toxicologist for Colorado, where she led teams to evaluate health risks related to chemical exposures for a variety of issues, including Superfund waste sites, brownfields, and oil and gas exploration and development.

Katelyn E. Hall, PhD, MPH – Principal Scientist

Dr. Katelyn Hall is an epidemiologist and biostatistician with over a decade of experience in environmental epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, and exposure science across the non-profit, state government, federal government, and private sectors. Dr. Hall’s strategic consulting in environmental epidemiology and biostatistics has aided both public and private sector clients in data-driven decision-making in the energy, chemical, agricultural, entertainment, waste management, and tech industries.
