Texas Gulf Coast Terminals Petroleum Remediation

Major Petroleum Company; Texas

OBJECTIVES

Roux has performed investigation, remediation, and regulatory reporting services at three midstream petroleum facilities in Texas, with a goal of meeting regulatory requirements and achieving closure. At the marine shipping terminal, a tank release threatened the adjacent ship channel. Roux has conducted remediation activities, groundwater sampling activities, reporting activities, and is in the final stages of confirmation sampling before closure.

At the condensate splitter facility, a release of diesel travelled to an off-site wetlands area. A third-party emergency response contractor provided absorbent containment and excavation services. Roux provided confirmation sampling and reporting to address the release and achieve closure. A more recent release of kerosene is being responded to in a similar manner.

At the second marine shipping terminal, Roux has responded to the discoveries of two contaminated areas resulting from activities of past occupants of the property. Each release affects or threatens surface water. Roux is providing emergency abatement advice, has conducted delineation investigations, and is providing regulatory guidance and reporting.
