Hospital Facilities Boiler Stack Design & Permitting

Hospital Facilities; Mid-Atlantic Region

OBJECTIVES

Roux partnered with a mechanical, electrical, and process engineering firm to provide air permitting and stack design services in support of boiler plant construction and upgrades at various medical centers throughout the US. In some instances, air dispersion modeling was used to evaluate emission health hazard indices and reduce requisite boiler stack heights. Additional considerations for these projects involved: 1) preparing, submitting, and obtaining regulatory approval of air dispersion modeling protocols; 2) preparing air dispersion-related health risk evaluation reports; and 3) providing design support to comply with regulatory requirements regarding boiler stack construction. Roux also assisted with obtaining temporary and final boiler plant air emission permits and plan approvals.
