Bank Stabilization & Land Use Permitting

Manufacturing Facility; New Jersey

OBJECTIVES

Roux performed engineering design, permitting, and construction management for a shoreline stabilization along the Delaware River. The shoreline had eroded severely over a 50-year period and was threatening the structural integrity of a closed hazardous waste landfill. The shoreline stabilization was designed to resist river wave action, flooding, and ice floes while meeting the requirements of multiple regulatory agencies. Roux integrated structural measures with vegetation to improve the stability and ecology of the shoreline and designed a riparian corridor mitigation.
