representative projects
  • Led an investigation of potential worker exposure to airborne contaminants at a life raft manufacturing facility. Developed a sampling strategy, collected personal air samples, as well as performed a quantitative evaluation of the local exhaust system. As part of the assessment, made recommendations on how to improve the local exhaust system for the new process being developed.
  • Provided high-level technical support and oversight during the assessment of potential employee exposures for a large law enforcement agency. The assessment focused on evaluating employee exposures to airborne lead and copper during the use of firearms at the agency’s shooting range. Performed the role of technical expert for the assessment, providing assistance related to regulatory requirements and reviewing the sampling strategy which was developed by another consultant, to ensure compliance with regulatory and recommended guidelines. Additionally, provided oversight during the collection of full shift employee exposure samples during a simulated worst-case scenario in order to provide quality control and to ensure the samples were collected according to regulatory and industry standards. Currently working with the client and a lead abatement firm to on implementation of a lead cleaning of the firing range.
  • Provided H&S support to EHS groups of large pharmaceutical companies. Tasks included review and auditing of internal EHS policies. Performed field audits of research and development (R&D) work spaces. Performed IH assessment and sampling to ensure compliance with governmental regulations and company policies.
  • Developed EPA Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) and New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) Discharge Prevention Containment and Countermeasure (DPCC) Plans for medium and large size facilities. These included inventories of stored materials, requirements for secondary containment, and emergency response procedures.
  • Conducted indoor air quality (IAQ) investigations (including for mold intrusion) for office, construction, and R&D workspaces. Investigation included collection of IAQ parameters (CO, CO2, humidity, temperature), conducted interviews, collected air and tape samples, and developed analysis reports outlining areas of improvement.
