Across the United States, thousands of petroleum-impacted sites—over 3,000 in Texas—linger in State Corrective Action Programs. Many sites are mired in the long project tail of continuous O&M, incurring seemingly endless reporting and costs for responsible parties.
Current regulatory and recent technical advances offer several natural attenuation approaches to remediation and compliance, including Natural Source Zone Depletion and Monitored Natural Attenuation, that meet the safety and risk requirements for site closure.
