JFK International Airport Central Substation 2

PANYNJ, YCC, and Syska Hennessy Group; Queens, New York

OBJECTIVES

Roux performed work at the John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport Central Substation 2 for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) as part of ongoing infrastructure improvements supporting airport operations for New Terminal One, Terminal 6, and the Ground Transportation Center. The project team included Yonkers Contracting Company (YCC) and the Syska Hennessy Group.

Roux’s scope of work included the preparation of a Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) and an Environmental Management Plan (EMP) to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements and to minimize potential environmental impacts associated with construction activities. Prior to and during construction, the project team implemented these plans to establish procedures for erosion and sediment control, stormwater management, and overall environmental protection at the Site.

In addition to plan preparation, ongoing support was provided through routine SWPPP inspections and the review of SWPPP inspection reports to verify compliance with permit conditions and project specifications. The work also included the review of construction submittals to ensure alignment with environmental requirements, as well as the preparation of monthly reports documenting inspection findings, site conditions, and compliance activities.
