Benefit-Cost Analysis of Water Conservation and Quality Improvement Projects

Various Southern California Water Management Agencies; Southern California

OBJECTIVES

Experts with Roux’s Economic & Complex Analytics Group have experience with monetizing social benefits of enhanced water quality, environmental protection, and improved drinking water supply reliability from public water infrastructure projects aimed at recycling, reuse, conservation, and supply resilience. Approximately 20 Southern California water management agencies applied to receive grant funding from the Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) Grant Program established by California’s Proposition 84. California’s Department of Water Resources (DWR) administered the Grant Program and required that applicants demonstrate public benefits of a proposed project exceeded planning and implementation costs eligible for grant funding. Roux’s analysis and financial modeling supported tens of millions of dollars in grant funding for numerous water infrastructure projects.
