Roux to Speak at Environmental Law Committee

Tuesday, April 3 The Chicago Bar Association is hosting an Environmental Law Committee program offering MCLE credit, featuring Roux’s Martin Hamper, Senior Geologist. Mr. Hamper will present “Have you Considered the Potential for PCBs in your Building Materials?” which will address the historic uses of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) in building materials. Buildings built before the PCB ban may contain PCBs in paint, caulk, floor finishes, and other substances, which can contribute to contamination and indoor air issues.

Roux Presenting at CICI Annual Training Seminar

Thursday, March 15 The Chemical Industry Council of Illinois (CICI), a state-wide business trade group that represents the interests of the chemical industry in the state of Illinois, is hosting their Annual Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Training Seminar. Roux’s Martin Hamper, Senior Geologist, will present the RCRA Annual Refresher. The seminar will continue with discussions defining the current status of solid waste, oil and hazardous substance spill reporting, a DOT emergency response training, and much more.

The seminar will allow professionals to get their eight hours of training under RCRA (40 CFR Section 265.16) and USDOT (49 CFR Section 172.704). To see the full agenda and register, please click here.

Roux Speaking at 2017 Annual Waste Conference

Tuesday, April 25 Roux’s Martin Hamper will be speaking at the 2017 Annual Waste Conference, presented by the Air & Waste Management Association Lake Michigan States Section. The conference entails a full day of exploring critical, cutting-edge issues in the management of waste, including discussion/clarification of regulations, proven solutions for waste management, and more.

Martin Hamper will be leading off Session IV, Federal Regulatory Changes: What You Need to Know to Get an “A” in Hazardous Waste Management, discussing USEPA’s Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule. Mr. Hamper’s presentation looks at one of the two new USEPA final rules that will affect broad industry sectors, as covered in Section IV.
