Volunteers Needed for Long Island Beach Cleanup with Special Guest Fabien Cousteau

Roux Associates has partnered with Coastal Steward and their Adopt-A-Beach program. Coastal Steward is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving our beaches and educating Long Island youth about marine life. Thanks to the efforts of hundreds of volunteers, Coastal Steward has removed over 250 tons of debris from Long Island beaches, released over 230,000 adult shellfish into four sanctuaries, and has educated young adults from grades 7-12 on marine science and environmental stewardship.

On Saturday, August 6 Coastal Steward will host a beach cleanup on Long Island in Belle Terre with special guest Fabien Cousteau. Fabien is grandson of renowned oceanographer, innovator, and conservationist Jacques Cousteau, whose achievements include co-developing the Aqua-lung and creating more than 120 television documentaries. Fabien Cousteau has carried on his grandfather’s legacy as an aquanaut, ocean conservationist, and documentary filmmaker. He has been scuba diving since age four, was featured on National Geographic as an Explorer-at-Large, and is best known for studying and immersing himself in the world of sharks.
