USEPA Publishes Clean Water Rule: Definition of ‘‘Waters of the United States’’; Final Rule

Effective on August 28th, 2015, the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) and the U.S Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) published a Final Rule that defines the scope of waters protected under the Clean Water Act (CWA). This Final Rule is to improve predictability and consistency for the CWA, and will benefit the United States’ public health and aquatic resources. Public comments were taken into account for the Final Rule.
