USEPA and U.S. Army Finalize a More Precise Clean Water Rule

On May 27, 2015, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) released an announcement that the Clean Water Rule is finalized to more clearly identify and protect streams and wetlands that are important for the health of downstream water bodies—essentially helping community health and the economy. Stakeholder meetings and public comments aided in developing the rule. This more precise rule addresses predictability, improves permitting, and clarifies previous confusion, resulting in clearer protection of streams and wetlands from degradation while improving resiliency to climate change impacts.
