Saturday, September 24 Coastal Steward is hosting another beach cleanup in conjunction with International Coastal Cleanup Day. Participants will meet up in McAllister County Park in Belle Terre and boat or drive out to other beaches to conduct cleanups, including parts of Port Jefferson Harbor and the Long Island Sound.
The Ocean Conservancy‘s International Coastal Cleanup Day takes place on Saturday, September 17. More than 18 million pounds of trash was collected by nearly 800,000 volunteers during last year’s International Coastal Cleanup.
Water and snacks will be provided, along with bags and gloves for trash collection. Please bring sunscreen and tick protection. For more information call Pat at 631-334-6824 with any questions.
