Staff Engineer (Southern California)

Position Overview
Our Southern California office is seeking responsible, self-sufficient, energetic entry-level engineers to work on projects related to investigation and environmental remediation of industrial and commercial sites. Candidates should be prepared for professional growth into areas such as assessment of remedial alternatives, management of various investigative and engineering tasks, conceptual plans, and regulatory interaction. The ideal candidate will be motivated to develop and build their personal knowledge and skills to assist with the growth and success of the office.  Excellent teamwork and organizational skills are required. Candidate Qualifications/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Chemical, or Civil Engineering. Master’s preferred.
  • 0-3 years environmental consulting experience

Position Requirements

  • Environmental sampling of soil, soil vapor, and groundwater
  • Health and safety monitoring
  • Design and construction inspection of remediation processes and systems
  • Evaluation and optimization of existing remediation systems
  • Oversight of remediation and construction ​subcontractors
  • Review of field data and preparation of data evaluation reports
  • Assist with cost estimating, report preparation, and task management as required by the Project Manager
  • Perform and check engineering calculations
  • Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and scopes of work for construction
  • 25% – 50% field work during approximately first two years
  • Support the office project work and collaborate with the Office Manager and staff to service clients and complete projects on time and on budget
  • Assistance with site investigation, analysis, and report preparation activities
  • Assistance with site remediation systems operations and maintenance activities

Available Position: Project Engineer

Project Engineer (Southern California)

Position Overview
This position will perform field and office tasks as well as provide project management support for traditional assessment and remediation projects. Collaboration with Senior Project Managers and Principals will be required to service clients and complete projects on time and on budget.

Candidate Qualifications/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering. Master’s preferred.
  • 3-8 years of relevant experience in the environmental industry with demonstrated progression in technical site investigation/remediation and task management
  • Experience with field characterization and remediation systems
  • Knowledge of remediation equipment, processes, and maintenance
  • Ability to lead contractors, co-workers, and other professionals in task management capacity to complete project copes on time and on budget
  • Strong written and verbal communications with technical writing experience
  • Experience with Microsoft suite, databases, and GIS preferred
  • Clean driving record
  • P.E. preferred

Available Position: Senior Geologist/Hydrogeologist

Senior Geologist/Hydrogeologist
(Southern California)

Position Overview
This position requires a strong Project Manager skill base with an ability to provide technical direction on site remediation projects in California. California project experience is required. The successful candidate will interact with the client and regulatory agencies. In addition, the successful candidate will supervise technical staff performing environmental and engineering consulting services for a variety of clients including, but not limited to, Fortune 500 industrial clients, real estate developers, attorneys, petrochemical, and manufacturing companies. Direct communication with the client is required.

Candidate Qualifications/Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Science, or related field. Master’s preferred.
  • 8+ years environmental consulting experience
  • Various certifications preferred (i.e., P.G. or C.Hg.)
  • Absent certifications, a minimum requirement is 5+ years working with an P.G. or C.Hg.

    • Due Diligence and property redevelopment experience preferred
    • Landfill experience a plus
  • Regulatory agency experience
    • Successful track record of working with DTSC, Regional Boards and CUPAs
    • Experience producing client-ready deliverables with minimal supervision
  • Staff training and mentorship
