For an insurer considering writing a cost cap policy, Roux Associates evaluated a remedial program plan to remediate very high levels of TCE in fractured bedrock beneath a building in New England. Roux reviewed the project plan and cost estimates and identified strong points and weak points in the plan and its assumptions. We highlighted potential adverse scenarios and calculated potential cost ramifications of each scenario. These cost scenarios were used as a basis for conducting a Monte Carlo analysis of potential remedial costs under different scenarios.
