Pre Divestiture Investigation

Roux Associates conducted a subsurface investigation for a major chemical manufacturing company which wanted to sell a New Jersey site to a paper manufacturer.  After an initial investigation revealed total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHs) in soils, Roux Associates was retained to address underground storage tank testing, conduct sampling, and provide a groundwater flow evaluation and downgradient receptor determination.  Roux Associates concluded that a 60-foot clay zone provided a barrier to the potable aquifer and that a nearby river acted as a hydraulic barrier for any horizontal groundwater flow.
