  • Contaminated Soil Remediation

    Manufacturer; Texas

Roux Associates remediated contaminated soil and closed a 20-acre forged oil production pipe manufacturing site in Houston, Texas. Attainment of Risk Reduction Rule #2 (Closure/Remediation to Health-Based Standards) for the site was demonstrated and a Certificate-of-Completion was issued by the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC).

  • Site Remediation/Risk Assessment

    Manufacturing Plant; Mid-Atlantic Region

Roux Associates evaluated the toxicity and potential risks of PCBs in soils at a former manufacturing facility. By demonstrating that the PCBs found at the site (Aroclor 1254) should be treated as a non-carcinogen, Roux was able to significantly reduce the volume of soils that required removal from the site, saving approximately $44 million.

  • Risk Assessment

    Manufacturing Plant; Kansas

Roux Associates evaluated potential current and future risks associated with chlorinated solvents in a city drinking water supply well. Potential risks were predicted at several points of possible exposure within the plume of contaminated water. Risk estimates were based on modeled concentrations of the chlorinated solvents at each potential exposure point assuming no remedial action.

  • Demolition & Site Remediation

    Metal Fabrication Facility; Connecticut

Roux Associates completed remediation at a 100-year-old, 20-acre former precious metal fabrication facility. The project was performed quickly to meet deadlines for property transfer to a developer. Investigations included a wetlands survey and ecological risk evaluations. Remediation included asbestos abatement, demolition and the removal of contaminated soil and separate phase metallic mercury.

  • Groundwater Remediation

    Electronics Manufacturer; Taiwan

Roux Associates designed, installed and operates a remedial system to address groundwater contaminated with chlorinated volatile organic compounds (CVOCs) across an 18-acre site in Taoyuan, Taiwan. Using enhanced reductive dechlorination, which stimulates naturally occurring microbes to degrade CVOCs in an anaerobic environment, 96% of the CVOC mass has been removed after five years.

  • RCRA Facility Investigation

    Chemical Company; West Virginia

Roux Associates conducted a RCRA Facility Investigation (RFI), Verification Investigation (VI) and developed a surface water/groundwater interaction model for a 100 + acre chemical manufacturing facility located in Nitro, West Virginia. Constituents of concern included volatile organic compounds (VOCs), herbicides, metals and dioxins. Impacted media included soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water.
