Roux Associates was retained by a major specialty paper manufacturer to provide environmental support at three of its mills located in New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts. The first step was to develop a detailed understanding of operations at each mill through a review of the environmental compliance audits conducted historically. We then completed a compliance audit at each mill. The compliance audits encompass a wide range of Federal and State regulatory programs including, but not limited to, CERCLA, RCRA, CAA, OPA, Underground Storage Tank, and National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES).

Roux Associates provides annual compliance audits and monitors and interprets regulatory requirements, proposed regulations and other changes relative to current and future operations at the mills. This service enables the mill's environmental managers to stay current with regulatory changes without devoting an extensive amount of time to these issues. Roux Associates also contacts each mill manager on a monthly basis to identify ongoing environmental needs. In addition, semi-annual mill visits are conducted to assess the mills' progress in addressing environmental issues identified during the annual audits. We have also established a tracking system for the mills' multi-media permit requirements. The tracking system outlines the expiration data and the monitoring requirements of each permit. Roux Associates updates the mills regularly on the status of the permits.
