CFAC and USEPA Finalize RI-FS Work Plan

Columbia Falls Aluminum Company, LLC (CFAC) and the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) have finalized the Remedial Investigation / Feasibility Study (RI/FS) Work Plan to assess historic environmental conditions at the former Anaconda Aluminum Smelter site in Columbia Falls, Montana. CFAC’s environmental consultant, Roux Associates, developed the RI/FS Work Plan that includes a road-map for performing a comprehensive assessment of the site as well as an evaluation of remedial alternatives that may be needed to address contamination from former manufacturing operations. The RI/FS Work Plan complies with applicable federal and state requirements and is incorporated as part of the Administrative Order on Consent between CFAC and USEPA.

The “CFAC RI-FS WP Executive Summary” downloads a six page document that provides an overview of the approach to conducting the RI/FS and a summary of the scope of work.
