CSLI, Town of Brookhaven, and Fabien Cousteau Host The Great Brookhaven Cleanup

Saturday, May 20 Roux will partner with Coastal Steward Long Island (CSLI) and the Town of Brookhaven for The Great Brookhaven Cleanup, with special guest Fabien Cousteau! The event takes place at the Marine Environmental Stewardship Center in Mount Sinai from 9am-1pm. At 10am, Fabien Cousteau will give a brief presentation, followed by questions from the press.

Fabien Cousteau, grandson of Jacques Cousteau, has carried on his grandfather’s legacy as an aquanaut, oceanographic explorer, documentary filmmaker, and environmental advocate. As of recent years, Fabien spends much of his time working with local communities and children worldwide to help restore local water ecosystems as a member of multiple cause-driven and charitable boards. Last year, he founded The Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center, focusing on Public Awareness (SEE), Education (LEARN) and Special Projects (DO). Some of these activities and initiatives include coral reef restoration programs, sea turtle restoration programs, and educational resources that can be utilized for elementary grades to the university level, as well museum programming.

Roux Exhibiting at Environmental Trade Fair & Conference

Tuesday, May 16 – Wednesday, May 17 Roux will be attending and exhibiting at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Environmental Trade Fair and Conference (ETFC). TCEQ’s mission is to protect the public health and natural resources of Texas consistent with sustainable economic development, while striving for clean air, water, and safe waste management.

This year’s conference offers two full days of educational tracks on topics like air quality, waste, water, oil and gas, and more, in over 50,000 square feet of exhibit space. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet face to face with TCEQ technical staff and visit hundreds of exhibitors, featuring the latest environmental products and services. Roux Associates will exhibit at Booth 1035.

New Jersey Office CSR Events

Roux is dedicated to maintaining an active Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. We encourage employee involvement in volunteer and charitable activities in the surrounding community both with Roux and independently. This weekend, our Logan Township, New Jersey office is participating in two CSR events: Scoring Goals for Autism and a Habitat for Humanity Group Build.

Friday, April 28 Scoring Goals For Autism is an annual soccer tournament fundraiser benefiting the Autism Science Foundation, raising money for autism research. Our team is participating in the indoor adult soccer tournament, offering competitive team play in a fun, 7-a-side tournament with co-ed, men’s, and women’s divisions. The following day also offers TOPSoccer: an adapted soccer program for children and adults with special needs, including autism. Saturday, April 29 Our Logan Township office is also taking part in a Gloucester County Habitat for Humanity Build Day. Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. In 1986, Gloucester County residents from church and community organizations recognized the need to serve low-income families by building affordable housing. Since then, this chapter of Habitat for Humanity has built/rehabilitated thirty-seven homes. Find your local Habitat for Humanity here.

Monday, May 1st Roux will be exhibiting at the Chemistry Council of New Jersey (CCNJ) 33rd Annual Spring Conference, a two-day New Jersey industry event with more than 200 professionals working within the business of chemistry.
