VIA 57 West

The Durst Organization; New York

Roux Associates is pleased to have collaborated with The Durst Organization to conduct a Track 1 Unrestricted remediation of the Mid Block #57 Project under the New York State Brownfields Cleanup Program. The Durst Organization received a Certificate of Completion from the NYSDEC to document approval of the Final Engineering Report, enabling construction of a 709-unit 80/20 residential building on West 57th Street between 11th and 12th Avenues. The remediation, designed and supervised by Roux Associates, included soil excavation and in situ groundwater treatment. The VIA 57 West building was named Best Tall Building in the Americas by a prestigious panel of experts from the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH).

Los Angeles City Oil Field

Former Los Angeles City Oil Field Property; California

Roux Associates remediated a property within the boundaries of the Los Angeles City Oil Field, formerly occupied by six active oil wells, various residences, and construction storage companies. Investigations included soil, soil vapor, and soil stockpile sampling to determine remaining contamination. Remediation included removal of soils from ten excavations in areas impacted by lead and petroleum hydrocarbons. The remedial work was under the strict oversight of California State agencies, and the property was re-developed into a high school.

West Chelsea District & Highline

Development Companies; New York

Roux Associates provided environmental consulting services at over a dozen Brownfield redevelopment projects within the 20-block Special West Chelsea District of Manhattan which includes residential and commercial development mixed with art galleries and the High Line City Park. Services included; clean-up of former manufactured gas plant and underground storage tank residues.

The Point at Sayreville

Development Company; New Jersey

Roux Associates provided environmental and technical support, and is the LSRP of record, for the investigation and remediation at the Sayreville commercial redevelopment site on which a Bass Pro Shops is being developed. Key environmental and technical support conducted by Roux included preparation of Remedial Investigation Reports and Remedial Action Work Plans that were submitted to the NJDEP and USEPA, support to the civil engineering and design firm, preparation of NJDEP-approved protocols for importation and management of clean fill, and management assistance related to clean fill importation. The site is being developed by an affiliate of O’Neill Properties Group, L.P.

Barclays Center

Development Company; New York

The Pacific Park Project, originally known as Atlantic Yards is a large multi-use (entertainment, residential, commercial) redevelopment project in New York City. Roux Associates was instrumental during the property acquisition and development to ensure compliance with strict Environmental Impact Statement requirements for soil management, storm water pollution control, community air monitoring, and health and safety.
