Roux Associates Men’s Team Wins 2007 Workplace Challenge
Congratulations to the Roux Associates’ men’s road racing team of Connor Marengo, Korey McCarren, and Michael Roux who captured FIRST PLACE at the 2007 Marcum & Kliegman LLC Workplace Challenge!
For the past fifteen years Roux Associates has participated in the Workplace Challenge (formerly the Chase Corporate Challenge) – a 3.5 mile road race held every July at Jones Beach State Park. The Workplace Challenge is a festival atmosphere that focuses on camaraderie and fitness in the workplace. The race has grown to become Long Island's largest participatory athletic event with over 6,800 participants this year. Differing from most other running races, the Workplace Challenge is a team event, where companies, agencies or organizations form teams of their employees, family, and friends.
In 2007, over 40 people from Roux Associates joined approximately 200 other teams to enjoy the beautiful weather, run, jog, or walk the race, cheer on the teams, and share in the post race picnic. Roux Associates’ men’s and women’s teams were led by Connor Marengo, son of Gil Molkentin, who took SECOND PLACE OVERALL, running an incredible 19:48 (5:40 mile pace). The top Roux Associates’ men’s team finished in first place with a combined time for three runners of 1:04:17 – just edging out the perennial powerhouse from Nassau County Department of Health.
The Workplace Challenge is also a charity event which raised over $25,000 to benefit the Children’s Medical Fund and the Long Island Children’s Museum. For more information on the Workplace Challenge, visit http://www.mkworkplacechallenge.com/.
Sincerely,
Paul Roux, CEO
