ExxonMobil Recognizes Roux Associates Safety Performance

ExxonMobil Safety Performance AwardExxonMobil Global Remediation has presented Roux Associates the Contractor Safety Performance Award for the second half of 2005 in recognition of overall safety performance. ExxonMobil established this award in 2005 as part of its ongoing commitment to reduce recordable injuries worldwide. Striving to achieve ExxonMobil's Nobody Gets Hurt vision has become part of Roux's daily work practice for all of our projects throughout the company.

Drew Baris, Roux's Client Program Manager for ExxonMobil, said: "We are very proud to receive this award. As a company, we value the safety of our people, our colleagues and the communities in which we work. ExxonMobil is the recognized industry leader in safety performance; so to receive this award from them is a high honor.

"Outstanding safety performance can only result from a daily and ongoing personal commitment from each individual, combined with overall team effort. Numerous Roux employees work on ExxonMobil projects and I would like to congratulate every one of them for achieving this level of performance".

The award is based upon ExxonMobil's evaluation of all of their US remediation consultants and contractors. Roux was recognized based upon:

  • Achieving 0 recordable injuries during 18,000 man-hours of Roux and subcontractor field work during the second half of 2005
  • Results of field assessments of our operations performed by ExxonMobil management
  • The level of promotion and engagement safety programs throughout the organization (e.g., frequency of proactive activities, quality of reports and follow-up actions; timeliness of reporting and data submissions; overall mindset and leadership commitment)
  • Quality of the near loss reporting / hazard spotting program

Steve Polkey, ExxonMobil's Downstream & Chemical SHE Manager, announced the award and presented a commemorative plaque to Drew Baris at the ExxonMobil 2006 Safety Forum meeting in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Sincerely,
Paul Roux, CEO
